Welcome To Tracey's Teddy Bear Daycare

My Philosophy

I believe my goal is to have children in my care enter Kindergarten prepared and confident in their abilities and to develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime. In order for children to build a love for learning children must enjoy and be interested in what they are learning about. At Tracey's Teddy Bear Daycare I observe and build on what each individual child is interested in. It is my goal to build confidence in all domains of learning.

I believe all children are capable of new learning and exploration and can do anything they set their mind to. My philosophy is to educate the whole child by supporting children in their growth and by offering an educational program in a warm, loving, and caring enviornment. I want children to be
creative and independent thinkers. Children are respected as individuals with child-directed learning centers

I believe my role as a teacher is to observe, nurture, to provoke learning and exploration opportunities. I want to give children a place where their interests are stimulated in a natural way. I believe children learn through play and hands on experiences that are authentic. As a teacher, I will have the flexibility to let children explore their interest and to make sure that I give support in any situation that may arise.

I have designed my enviornment to give children the opportunity to explore materials and participate in a varity of experiences based on their
interests. Activities are planned and implemented in an open classroom setting. My home is a safe and secure place for children to build confidence in themselves. Everyday we work on building independence, problem solving skills, and self-esteem as they make choices and assist in planning of the environment and activities.

I believe that having a good
relationship with families is important to children's learning and having families support while including them in the classroom builds confidence in the children and their families . I think teaching children about diversity in families in the classroom aslo supports understanding about how families are different but also to appreciate and respect one another. Building children to be the best they can be is very important; this will stay with them for the rest of their growing lives.
